Final Construction

Photo 62 WOOO HOOO!! The engine crack is fixed and repainted; and Final assembly has begun. I marked off and sanded off the area that I would be gluing and attached it. I held the engine in place with two spring clamps. (note: this is the engine I had to fix.)

Both engines are attached and I painted the Planetary Sensor Dome gold.

Photo 64 Now that the model would be resting on the engines instead of the pylons, I had to protect them until I get the display stand built. I thought about using masking or scotch tape but I got worried that it might peel off the paint when I took the tape off. Then I got an idea: "I have napkins on my desk .... and copper wire." *BING* the light bulb turned on. I wrapped the engines in napkins and secured them with wire. I also put the temp bridge back on, to keep things out.

The arch is painted, the paser cannons are in place and the stand is connected. it's time to apply the decals. Photo 65

Photo 66 Another angle, but without the stand ot bridge.
